Top Notch Hikes in Zion

Seth and I arrived in Zion a little after noon on Sunday, and got set up at the campsite. There is a really convenient shuttle system connecting the park to Springdale, so we went into the park and got off the shuttle at The Grotto to hike Angel’s Landing. I had been looking forward to that hike for months, and it did not disappoint. You go up a series of steep switchbacks until you get to the base of a narrow ridge. From there, you hold onto a chain to hike to the top with 1000 ft drop-offs on either side. The climb was exciting and challenging, and the view at the top was phenomenal.

The next day we woke up early and went into the park to hike The Narrows, another iconic Zion hike that I’d been waiting for. We walked through the Virgin River up into the narrowest sections of Zion Canyon, and the views were absolutely beautiful. My favorite spot was a narrow section called The Subway, where the walls were about 1000 ft high, and the river was only about 20 ft wide. These two hikes in Zion were both incredible, and I think they will both be making my top 5 hikes list!
